Following the conclusion of a transitionary period, Evolve Facility Management is now fully operational as the new operator for the Perth Motorplex.

In December of 2020, the newly established subsidiary of the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) was announced as the new operator for the premier motorsport facility following an extensive procurement process by venue owner, VenuesWest.

Responsible for the effective and dedicated management of the Perth Motorplex under Evolve as its Commercial and Operations Manager is experienced motorsport administrator, Paul Trengove.

“Following the successful conclusion of the transitionary period, I am very excited to say that the Perth Motorplex now continues full steam ahead under the operation of Evolve Facility Management,” Trengove said.

“The Perth Motorplex is a truly great facility, one of the world’s best, and I have been grateful for the support of VenuesWest and the experienced Perth Motorplex staff and volunteers as we have worked through this transitionary period.

“We now look forward to continuing the legacy put in place by Gary Miocevich 20 years ago, and honouring all of the hard work the WA Government; former Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray; current Sport and Recreation Minister, Tony Buti; and VenuesWest have put into ensuring the Perth Motorplex has been at the forefront of motorsports over the past years as we move into this promising new era for the venue and for motorsport in WA.

“A number of events have already been held in the last few weeks since the operational handover of the venue officially took place.

“We opened with what was a very successful ‘Legends of Speedway’ event, with crowd numbers exceeding expectations and the event operations running efficiently.

“Following this was our biggest drag racing event of the year, the Westernationals. Whilst COVID border restrictions impeded our ability to invite Top Fuel cars from interstate, the event saw huge support from both competitors and spectators. Additionally, several records were broken that weekend, including the ANDRA National Top Doorslammer ET record: 5.681s, which was set at 410.64kph down the quarter mile by John Zappia in his Monaro.

“We are all hard at work preparing for a frantic finish to our racing season with popular Burnout King and Monster Truck events being held over a bumper Easter weekend ahead of our season culminating with our Grand Final event in mid-April.”
