Rain might have brought a temporary halt to Sydney Dragway’s week of mega-testing but when the sun came back out so did the racers, as Paul Mouhayet raised his Australian doorslammer speed record to 266.58mph.
Mouhayet couldn’t quite match the 5.58 ET from earlier in the week but the back half of the track was impressive. The car has run as fast as 274mph in the USA and as the team gradually turns the dials through the coming days they should edge closer to that mark. The 266mph clocking smashed the existing speed record of 261mph.
