Victorian drag racer Matt Czerny is hard at work on a new project, a sweet looking Holden panel van.
Panel vans are one of those classic Australian takes on car design, a bit like the ute, with a combination of utility and practicality. Of course, the only thing that matters on the drag strip is performance and Czerny plans to have plenty of that aboard thanks to a 662 cubic inch big block Chev linked up with a Powerglide. Paul Turner has overseen the engine rebuild (the motor is from Czerny’s dragster). The car will compete in Top Sportsman with Czerny hoping for consistent 7.9s from the package.
Czerny hopes to unveil van car at Motorex 2020 in Melbourne. The paint is a gorgeous PPG 24 Karat Gold, a bit of a chnge up for Czerny who typically vinyl wraps his rides, as the owner of Vinyl Wraps and Graphics.
