Fresh from an exciting new personal best ET of 3.783 at the last round, Hydraulink Jim Read Racing is riding a wave of confidence heading into this weekend’s Nitro Champs double header at their home-track of Sydney Dragway.

The new PB came as part of the team’s B-final victory against championship leader Wayne Newby at Dragway at The Bend, and making it even more impressive was the fact that it came despite an early shut-off for the Hydraulink Jim Read Racing Top Fuel Dragster.

“The entire team was thrilled to run a three-seventy in Adelaide, and who knows what that could have been if I hadn’t lifted off – it sure hurt me to do it, I tell you that,” driver Phil Read said.

“With the win in Perth followed by this step forward in performance, it really has been a great boost for all of us – for me, for our entire crew, our brother, and our sponsors – as we head into this all-important double header, and hopefully we can keep this momentum going at home this weekend.

“With Justin and his boys preparing the track, we think we can improve on what we saw in Adelaide – so be sure to watch this space!”

With three rounds left to run, two of them this weekend, anything could still happen in what is a highly competitive NDRC title chase.

“As always, we are very well prepared, and we are really looking forward to the challenge,” Hydraulink Jim Read Racing Crew Chief, Bruce Read, said.

“The car is showing great promise and potential, and I am confident we can give it a really good shake at Sydney this weekend – here is hoping some hometown luck can come into play for us as well.

“We will be taking advantage of the Friday testing before getting into the two championship rounds of racing over the weekend, and as always nothing will be left on the table. The stakes are going to be high, but we are ready to do battle.

“With two events in one weekend for Top Fuel, and all the other support categories taking part, the fans are in for a drag racing feast and we look forward to seeing the stands packed out once again, and also to bringing more than 100 corporate guests over the Saturday and Sunday for what is set to be an epic show.

“Here’s hoping we can bring home the hardware, and perhaps a further new PB as well,” grinned Bruce Read.

Hydraulink Jim Read Racing is supported on track by Hydraulink, Valvoline, Snap-On, McDonalds, FXD Workwear, Comp Cams, PremiAir Hire, Odyssey Batteries, PMP Motorsport Products, Oasis Aquatics, Oasis Heat Pumps, Speed Gas, Spa Electric Pool Lighting, and Pacific Pools.
