The BROMOD Camaro now has company in the Stew Walsh shed, with Walsh wetting the appetite of followers after showing off his latest Camaro creation – dubbed Robyn’s Kitchen.
“The car is called Robyn’s Kitchen after the fact I spent a bit more than the wife’s kitchen money on it – thanks to my wife Robyn!” exclaimed Walsh.
Walsh has found great success with his BROMOD twin turbo Camaro in the Pro Mod ranks, a class he enjoys whether it is on an index or no holds barred racing. Walsh while happy with the performance of the BROMOD still thinks there is a bit more left in it yet, but it hasn’t stopped him keeping his options open, building the Robyn’s Kitchen ’67 Camaro.
Formally a Stuart Bishop Top Doorslammer, Walsh has had the car completely stripped and rebuilt for a totally new engine combination, doing away with the twin huffers like in the BROMOD and going to a Procharger.
The Camaro features a 521 BAE Block with Noonan Heads and intake, backed by a Bruno Drive to Lenco 3 Speed into a modular rear end with billet centre, all fed by a 140mm Procharger.
There is no set menu for Robyn’s Kitchen, with Walsh wanting to prove going fast has options.
“Goals are to go quick on both radial and slicks and put it in the trailer after each race,” he said,
“Trying a different combination from turbos just to see how it goes, but also to show future drag racers that there are multiple ways we can run using the latest technology available.”
Stew Walsh would to thank Darren and the team at Fleet Imaging for the paint, Paramount Performance Toowoomba, Elite Race Parts, Pro Mod Fabrications, Mick’s Motorsports Composites, EMAE, Fastlane Industries and Ian & Steve Ham for their ongoing support.
