As the radial tyre movement grows, we are seeing more and more purpose built radial race cars arriving at tracks, like this Mustang stunner out of Profab.
Locally built by Joe and Jonathon Gauci at Profab Motorsport Fabrications in the Illawarra Region south of Sydney, this new Mustang will mix it up with the best radial cars in the country in the near future, with the goal to run fives on the quarter and threes over 200 on the eighth.
Joe Gauci is moving on from his iconic record setting Cortina which has had a number of incarnations over the years .
The new Mustang it motivated by the go-to 481x Proline engine out of Dandy Engines, boosted by twin Precision 98mm turbos, controlled by a Fueltech FT600 engine management and data logging system, and has power sent to the tyres via a T4400 two speed transmission.
“The chassis was built in our shop at Profab, Dave from DRC painted the interior and prepared the body work for Tony’s Prestige Smash to paint. Exotic Customs took care of the stripes and all decals. The car was wired by Enzo at Regional Auto repairs – also supporting us,” said Profab’s Joe Gauci.
The car is supported and backed by Carl Cox Motorsport, Ultra Music Festival, Speedflow, Precision Turbos, Speedpro, Proline, Fuel tech, Dandy Engines. Tony’s Prestige Smash, Exotic Customs and DRC.
