This Friday June 18, the Hidden Valley Drag Strip will host an epic Nitro Up North show to the delight of drag racing and Supercars fans alike as a major feature of the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown Supercars round.

The event will deliver thrilling action for not only those on-site at the drag strip but also those watching from home, with all of the proceedings to be broadcast live from 6.30pm local time on both Fox Sports (Channel 506) and 7Plus.

Taking part in the one-night spectacular will be nine Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars, the Nitro Sherriff Wheelstander, ten Top Doorslammers, a Jet Car, and plenty of other on-track racing action. Also on hand will be a Supercars display.

It will be the first time the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars have run at Hidden Valley since 2019, when Anthony Begley took out the win ahead of runners-up Morice McMillan and Justin Walshe.

The racing this Friday will utilise a three-round ‘all run’ format, so win, lose or draw, the fans will get to see their favourite cars three times across the evening.

Amongst the nine-strong field of Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars will be Josh Leahy in ‘The Bandit.’

“We are super excited to be back burning nitro in the NT, and to be part of this motorsport spectacular is very cool, there really is something for everyone,” Leahy said.

“Nitro up North is shaping up to be an event to remember, there is an awesome field of nitro burning funny cars ready to put on a ground pounding flame throwing show at over 400km/h for the Darwin fans as well as the fan favourite wheel stander and some world class door slammers.

“With an open pit area, it is an incredible chance to get up close to these awesome machines and meet the drivers. And for those who can’t make it to the event, don’t forget to jump on Fox Sports or 7plus to see the event live!”

Nitro Up North will be held at the Hidden Valley Drag Strip on Friday, June 18, as part of the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown. Spectator gates will open at 4.30pm. For full event info and to purchase tickets, go to www.hiddenvalleydrags.com
