Johnny Wilson and Simon Kryger shook down their nitrous snorting mountain motor Outlaw 10.5 Camaro for the first time last night at Sydney Dragway in preparation for the APSA Pro Street Shootout this Saturday at Calder Park.
Imported from the US, the 850ci Camaro combined with a 1000HP shot of nitrous is set to boost the emerging Outlaw 10.5 bracket that’s wildly popular overseas.
The first run after a colossal burnout netted a 1.15 short time topped off with a 7.90 lifting around the half track mark, followed by a improving 1.11 sixty 330ft launch with nitrous flames belching from the pipes.
“We are absolutely rapt how the car went last night with a 1.1 sixty and only a really soft tune our increments show it was on a 6.80 pass,” said owner Johnny Wilson.
“The only issue we had was the scoop folding in half on us which is getting fixed while I speak.
“Tomorrow we are testing at Calder then it’s the first round on Saturday for the APSA Pro Street Series 2012.
“If everything looks good we will push for the nitrous Outlaw 10.5 World Record which sits at 6.52 @ 210MPH.
Racing starts at 9am this Saturday if you want to catch the Staunch Supplements/Innocent Motorsports Camaro on track at Calder Park.
