Oberg Family Racing are thrashing to assemble their Supercharged Outlaw funny car in time for a debut at the 50th Winternationals.
With the kids now out of Juniors, Rod Oberg has been piecing together the funny car over time to have steer himself, and now the build is reaching its conclusion.
“Trying our best to still make the 50th Winternationals but things are getting tight now time wise and budget wise,” said Rod via the team’s Facebook page. “The body finally received colour yesterday so we will hopefully have it back Saturday and can start mounting the spill plates etc.”
“The motor is now pretty right to go, just have to plumb it, and wire it, but thanks to our good friends at Speedflow we should have all that in the next few days to start work. New plug leads have been made and clutch has been modified from 5 disc to 3 disc and will go in the car this weekend.
“We did however have a setback when checking the rear end over and found the pinion is cracked badly, so we are now up for some diff gears which hurts, but at least we know the diff will be right.
