Co-tuner Tino Rapisarda will be flying solo for Rapisarda Autosport International at this weekends’ 44th Annual NHRA Gatornationals in Florida with his fellow tuner Santo Rapisarda Jr. electing to stay home in Sydney to prep the Damien Harris entry for the Santo’s Cranes Super 3 Extreme meeting at Willowbank Raceway on March 29-30.
“After the Phoenix NHRA round we sat down and had a look at our race program for the next couple of rounds as well as our plans to race in Australia over Easter,” said Rapisarda. “We decided that it was best for me to stay in Australia and go testing with Damien and for Tino to be in charge for the Gatornationals. Dad is keen that the team do well in Queensland where we will also be running Larry Dixon in our family car as well.”
The “Gatornats” is one of the prize events on the NHRA that every team wants to do well at. It’s no surprise the meet has attracted 23 fuel cars the best entry list for the season. After doing well at Pomona and Phoenix we need to qualify and race well to cement our place in the top ten,” said Rapisarda.
