Chris Matheson made the quickest ever run on two wheels on Saturday night at Perth Motorplex.
The final rounds of the 2021/2022 Australian Drag Racing Championship and the 2021/2022 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series delivered no shortage of excitement at the Perth Motorplex across April 8/9 at the season-ending EGT ANDRA Grand Finals event.
The Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship and the ANDRA Grand Finals combined for one of Australian drag racing’s strongest events in recent memory at Perth Motorplex.
Once again weather played havoc for the start of day two of the Gulf Western Oil Super Thunder event, and continued off and on for the rest of the afternoon, before the skies cleared and a full action-packed schedule of racing followed.
The first season of the new Australian Drag Racing Championship has come to a crowd-pleasing conclusion at the Perth Motorplex, with Daniel Gregorini and Greg Durack claiming the Top Doorslammer and Top Fuel Motorcycle Championships respectively.
There was no shortage of wide grins at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday evening with the champions of the 2021/2022 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series crowned after two big days of racing for the EGT ANDRA Grand Finals.
The spectators were eager, and the racers were ready to put on a show for day one of the Gulf Western Oil Super Thunder, but the weather had another plan, delaying the start to Friday’s racing.
