Lisa Gregorini’s remarkable start to the 2024/25 season has continued with her first home track win at Perth Motorplex on Saturday night.
Lisa defeated WA Top Doorslammer veteran John Zappia in a thrilling final round with a 5.742 pass from her supercharged Camaro. The victory was her second in two months, following her breakthrough triumph at the Springnationals at The Bend Motorsports Park in October, and gave Lisa the lead in the WA Top Doorslammer Championship.

Much more favourable weather conditions greeted the ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship racers on day two of the South Coast Nationals today at South Coast Raceway. The seaside track came alive on Sunday, 8 December, for a full day of racing to see who would take home ANDRA Christmas Trees.

Early morning showers couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm at the South Coast Nationals, with qualifying for round four of the ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship now complete ahead of a full day of racing on Sunday. Racers lined up after a rain-delayed start to qualifying sessions and quickly got to work to set the stage for racing at South Coast Raceway (Sunday, 8 December).

Unleash the KRAKEN! Simon O’Carroll is extinguishing the candles for now to be blown with this stunning Camaro while still on the radial small tyre. O’Carroll will be chasing 3 second ETs at the Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series in Outlaw 275.

At the 2023 South Coast Nationals at South Coast Raceway, Gary Vogelsang broke through for what he describes as the highlight of his drag racing career so far: his first ANDRA Christmas Tree.

John and Brodie Zappia, racing under the banner of Zappia Racing, recently competed in the 50th Goldenstates, NDRC Top Doorslammer Championship – Round 2, at the Perth Motorplex. This event marked a significant milestone for the team as they welcomed Summit Racing Equipment as a major sponsor for both race cars.

South Australia’s Peter and Brock Furlanetto were on track at the Perth Motorplex at the weekend for the Burson Auto Parts 50th annual Goldenstates and are now travelling back across the country to Victoria’s South Coast Raceway for next weekend’s South Coast Nationals.

The 50th annual Goldenstates saw NDRC Top Doorslammer and NDRC Top Fuel Motorcycle championship racing delight an enthusiastic crowd at the Perth Motorplex at the weekend, as these competitors did battle in the second round of their respective 2024/2025 championship chases.

Day two of the Burson Auto Parts 50th annual Goldenstates has been run and won, with ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship fans enjoying a tremendous day and night of sportsman racing in the West at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday, 23 November.

An action-packed day and night of qualifying and racing action for the ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship lies ahead at the Perth Motorplex today (Saturday, November 23) for day two of the Burson Auto Parts 50th annual Goldenstates.

The first day of the Burson Auto Parts 50th Goldenstates Championship is run and done, with defending NDRC Top Doorslammer Australian Champion Russell Taylor leading the way for the Top Doorslammers, and the return of a familiar name in Ian Ashelford leading the charge for Top Fuel Motorcycle.

The annual Burson Auto Parts Goldenstates has been the battleground for some of the hardest Top Doorslammer racing in Australia. The second round of the NDRC Australian Top Doorslammer Championship rolls into Perth Motorplex this Friday and Saturday for the event’s historic 50th running and there are predictions of one of the quickest events yet for the class.

Charlotte Liefting, a 17-year-old from Oxley Island, NSW, is preparing to take the long trek across the country for one of the biggest events of her season—the 50th Anniversary Goldenstates Drag Racing Championships. The prestigious event will take place at the Perth Motorplex in Western Australia on November 22-23, where Charlotte will compete in the Junior Dragster class.

The 50th annual Burson Auto Parts Goldenstates is a title every drag racer wants to win and none more so than Western Australia’s Daniel and Lisa Gregorini, who will both be seeking victory in the second round of the Australian Top Doorslammer Championship.

Neil Gannaway broke through for his first ANDRA Christmas Tree at last year’s Goldenstates, and now his daughter and third-generation racer, 21 year old Rachel Gannaway, will do her best to follow in his footsteps at this weekend’s 50th running of the prestigious event.

Top Doorslammer racer Lisa Gregorini made headlines both in Australia and overseas at the NDRC season-opening Aeroflow Spring Nationals at Dragway at the Bend when she broke through for what is believed to be the first victory by an all-female drag racing team in professional drag racing history.

The inaugural round of the Pro Drag Racing Championship was a roaring success with racers and fans alike, despite Friday’s action being cancelled due to persistent rain which continued into Saturday morning, over 50 professional racers took to the Sydney Dragway quarter mile. Supported by the Grand Final for the NSW Championship Series for sportsman racers, the event counted towards the NDRC point score for Pro Alcohol, Pro Mod, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle.

At the last weekend’s QDRC event at Willowbank Raceway Cheyne Phillips, son of the legendary Gary Phillips showed up with some new kit – a stunning new Chevy Camaro Pro Alcohol Funny Car. Now in a double-twist, the Phillips Racing team have rocked up to Sydney Dragway for the first round of the NDRC Pro Alcohol Championship this weekend with the funny car instead of the altered.

A new championship season brings new opportunities, and a clean slate is what Locky Ireland needs after misfortune plagued the Pro Stock Motorcycle stalwart’s first NDRC Championship season.

Behind the butterfly wheel of the Gulf Western Oil Sainty/Holmes Funny Car at just 22 years old, Cruz Lovering will be going head to head with a field of seasoned performers that includes the best there ever has been in Pro Alcohol this weekend (November 15/16) at Sydney Dragway.

The event was the official start of the new Perth Motorplex drag racing season, with Zappia versus Zappia a hot topic of discussion pre-event, the young Brodie Zappia would make his competition debut, continuing a family Top Doorslammer legacy.

On the back of this we are witnessing the return of iconic names from the past once again throwing their leg over a Pro Stock Motorcycle.

The newest and most exciting Drag Racing series in Australia, the Pro Drag Racing Championship, heads to Sydney Dragway for its inaugural event to kick off the 2024-25 Championship Season. In conjunction with the NDRC, the PDRC will host Pro Alcohol, Pro Mod, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle and will also introduce a new exhibition category in Pro Import this weekend specifically for Rotary and four or six cylinder powered cars. Competitors in championship categories will race for NDRC Championship points, with the season cumulating when the NDRC and PDRC come together at the Nitro Champs in Sydney and The Winternationals at Willowbank for the series Grand Final.

Damian Muscat had a very good evening at Dragway at the Bend’s Drag Bike Nationals on Saturday, not only laying down the quickest Top Fuel Motorcycle pass in the country, but also taking out A-Final victory over runner-up Rob Cassar for what was the first round of the 2024/2025 NDRC Top Fuel Motorcycle Championship.

Dragway At The Bend has again proved it’s the domain for record setters after the venue added another Australian Record to its credentials in its relatively short operating life. Damian Muscat aboard his Nitro Phoenix Top Fuel Motorcycle belted out a 5.800 at 245MPH (394.96KPH) to eclipse all who have come before him.

After spending the majority of last season on the side-lines, Clint George, driver of the Stress Racing GXP is preparing to drop the clutch on a new NDRC/PDRC Pro Stock championship season when Round 1 fires up at Sydney Dragway on November 15 and 16.

It was another big day of action at round four of the Queensland Drag Racing Championship as the series drives to it’s conclusion and crowning of Willowbank Track Champions.
