The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car show has a new star – the Super Bad Nova of Peter Leahy is heading to Adelaide for the January 4 event at Adelaide International Raceway for the car’s Australian debut.
Leahy is a name synonymous with Australian drag racing and after his debut in the Aeroflow show at the November event, Peter is excited to be driving his new beast at the Nitro Challenge presented by Bendigo Bank.
“We have had lots of great feedback on the car already,” smiled Leahy looking over his new racecar.
The silver Nova is one of the most iconic body shapes in the series and the new car looks like it has what it takes to be a front-runner in the series.
“Running the Let’s Boogie Mustang in Sydney was great and it gives as an idea about the level of competition and machinery required, both in the pit and on the track.
“This new car will be a process of refinement to make sure we are at the pointy end of the field.
“Adelaide is a different track surface and we are hoping we can get a handle on the tune up quickly and get some wins under our belts,” concluded Leahy.
The first event for the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars was held in Sydney, and featured US Superstar Ron Capps.
Series Manager Steve Bettes explained “It was great to have Ron here but the cars are the real stars of the show and I think Peter’s Super Bad will be one of the crowd favourites.”
“Together with Rino and his team at Racing Onn Promotions, we are looking forward to putting on a great show for South Australian drag racing fans,” exclaimed Bettes.
