In great news Phil Parker will be astride “Gracie” – his Top Fuel Motorcycle – once again at Australian Nationals as his continues his personal cancer battle.
Parker emotionally retired for riding at the Winternationals last year to concentrate on fighting the dreaded disease but in what must come as fantastic news for Parker, doctors have given him clearance to race again at The Nationals he announced on Facebook.
“The doc has signed medical, so I am all good tp ride for the Nationals,” said Parker.
“Have had a few weeks off from chemo and all my hair has fallen out – hair today, gone tomorrow – but I am much better and looking forward greatly to riding again.”
Parker’s bike has also been freshened up for the task at hand.
“Gracie is nearly ready and will be right next week with new rear sprocket, new chute and brackets, spare motor in the chassis, and blower sped up a bit more to make sure we run hard and fast. We pulled the other motor out after the Winters and it required just a crank polish – so happy days on the motor front.” he said.
“I look forward to catching up with everyone at the Nationals.”
Best of luck Phil.
