The 2010/2011 ANDRA Pro Series Pro Stock season has not been the season that the Porters Racing team had hoped for. Business commitments and inclement weather have hampered their efforts but the focus is now on the Winternationals.
Although their championship aspirations are over for this season, the team wants to have a good shot at their first ANDRA gold Christmas tree on the biggest stage of ANDRA Pro Series Drag Racing.
“I’ll be the first to admit that we haven’t had the season that we had hoped for; it will be business as normal for the Porters Racing team at the 2011 Castrol EDGE Winternationals. We have never scored an ANDRA Pro Series gold Christmas tree and in saying that I couldn’t think of a better time to do it than at the biggest race of the year at our state track,” said Scott Porter, driver of the Porters Racing Ford Mustang.
Team owner and crew chief Paul Porter said that between the Nitro Champs and the Winternationals the team had spent long hours in the workshop analysing the team’s recent performance and what changes need to be made for the team to be back at the top of the heap.
“We started the season exactly how we had planned, however, we just haven’t had the consistency to keep the momentum in the championship. We missed a round due to business commitments and then the January event due to inclement weather. We’ve been working long hours during the last few weeks getting the car back to the “sweet spot” that we had during the opening round of the season. We’re looking forward to finally doing some testing at the Winters Warm Up in preparation for the Winternationals,” said Paul.
The Porters team will attend this event with a total “new look”. A corporate sponsor has come onboard and all will be revealed at the Winternationals.
The 2011 Castrol EDGE Winternationals will be contested June 10 – 13 (Queen’s Birthday long weekend at Willowbank Raceway.
