Joe Gauci in his Profab Motorsport Fabrications built Mustang annihilated the Australian quarter mile record multiple times in testing over the past couple of days.
With the current quarter mile record sitting at 6.55, Gauci decided to send his family built Mustang over the full distance during a few days of testing at Sydney Dragway.
The first full track run destroyed the record with a 6.22 at 211mph. The team returned the next day and dropped it immediately to a 6.15 at 228mph. Determined to crank out the first five, not even a flat tyre that resulted in a mad rush for a replacement deterred them, and the team finished the night narrowly missing the milestone five with a 6.05 at a stomping 241mph.
“So close I could feel it,” said Joe Gauci. “6.05 at 241 was an awesome feeling in a car me and Jonathan have build along side each other. Well done son!”
“Thanks to so many people, Catherine, Rachelle, Jonathan, Bane, Caitlin, Michael, Enzo, Steve, Rod, Carl, Ian, Matt, Dave, Nisso, Jamie Miller red hat mafia – aka SC – thanks mate. Frank ‘always giving so much effort’ Marchese and the Dandy Crew, these guys are building and tuning so many tough engine combinations.”
