PUERTO RICAN IMPORT ICON HEADED TO OZ

A piece of Puerto Rican import racing history, the iconic “El Humilde” Toyota AE86 owned by Carlos Ruiz is heading to the Nader family in Sydney.

The record setting car is instantly identifiable world over in the import racing scene, and has even competed on Australia shores as part of the Puerto Rican invasion of 2017 at the Brisbane Jamboree.

“The very first time many years ago, when I came across this Toyota A86 Trueno known as “El Humilde” on Youtube racing overseas, I was instantly drawn to this car,” said Nader. “The car made an atmosphere, the commentators spoke of the car with such high regard, it was entertaining as hell, and was always a crowd favourite – you can see the Puerto Rican passion the way they race, the way they celebrated this car was next level.

“”El Humilde” consistently made history in the racing world. Winning events, breaking records then watching it run 5s later on in its journey made it even more fun to watch, I have to say I became avid follower. It was when “El Humilde” made its way down under to Jamboree and I was able to personally witness this car make history here also, that was the icing on the cake for me. I then told myself one day I have to have this car!

“I contacted the owner Carlos Ruiz, asking if he would consider parting ways with his car, after a lengthy negotiation he finally agreed to sell me the car. I am now pleased to announce that I am the rightful owner of this fantastic piece of racing history, and will be back on Australian soil very soon, and now will be calling Australia home!

The car ran a 2JZ package, but with Nader a fan of RB motivation, there is no word yet on what will be pushing the Toyota once again in to the five second zone in Australia.
