After some teasing, Race Parts Melbourne have unveiled their latest radial warfare weapon, transforming the former Wayne Keys blown Top Doorslammer into a twin turbo monster ready to take on the best in the Australian radial tyre scene.
Not that the last Johnny Ricca driven RPM machine was any slouch, breaking a bunch of radial records in Australia, but the team have sold the Mustang and moved on to the Camaro.
“We purchased this car as a roller from Keys Family Motorsport over in Perth who built this car from the ground up here in Australia. Wayne was a huge help with loading the car and all the spares in a container and had it to us within a week of purchasing it,” announced RPM via their Facebook page today.
“We then went to work switching the car from a big tyre, roots blown hemi, doorslammer to a twin turbo, radial tyre car with all the running gear and electronics from our red Mustang. The guys at Specialised Power porting squeezed us in and did an awesome job from fabricating the exhaust manifolds, intake pipes, air intakes, mounting turbos, cutting and moving bars plus much more.”
“The guys at SnS Smash Repairs also did an awesome job with body and paint in such a short amount of time. We would like to say a huge thanks to our crew and the awesome companies that have helped us getting this car to where it is in just 12 weeks.”
“We are excited to have IKON Services Australia, Joel’s Garage Gear and Garrett – Advancing Motion join our team for the remainder of the 2021/2022 season and we will go into a bit more about what they do over the next few days. We also still have SnS Smash Repairs, WM Titanium Products, TKM Performance and Racecoatings that have been by our side since stepping into the Mustang.
