Rachelle Splatt has announced her Top Fuel comeback race meeting will be at 400 Thunder’s Santo’s Summer Thunder event at Sydney Dragway on January 21.
Splatt revealed a few months ago she would be returning to the sport that saw her become the first woman in the world over 300mph following a 10 year break.
Since then the team has been searching for a sponsor to make the comeback a reality, and now have signed telecommunication company OVO Mobile.
“I’m back! Since announcing my return to racing, I’ve been thrilled to connect and partner with some fantastic Australian businesses,” said Splatt via her Facebook page.
“So it makes me proud to share with you that I’ll be officially hitting the track to race at the Santo’s Summer Thunder event in Sydney on the 21st of January, with OVO Mobile as my major sponsor.”
Overseeing the tuning side of the operation will be expert NHRA tuner Ron Douglas.
Douglas spent nine years as crew chief for John Force Racing in the NHRA before moving to Bob Vandergriff Racing.
Splatt will familiarise herself with the controls of a Top Fuel dragster once again during testing at Sydney Dragway in the lead up to the 400 Thunder event.
