Rapisarda Autosport International will be seeking redemption when they race at the NHRA Carolina Nationals at z-MAX Dragway, on September 16-18.
The team has regrouped after a heartbreaking return to the NHRA tour at the U.S. Nationals where they missed the cut by.002sec.
“We were disappointed to not qualify at Indy,” said team-owner Santo Rapisarda. “I talked to Santino and Santo Jnr and we decided to change our plans to return to Australia and have decided to stay in America and run at the Carolina Nationals. We can do better than what we showed at Indy where we experienced some mechanical issues over the weekend but we make no excuses for not qualifying.”
“We’ve raced at z-Max back in 2013 at the 4-wide meeting and made it to second round and narrowly missed going to the final. We are looking forward to returning, it’s one of the best tracks on all of the NHRA series.”
“Since Indy we have stripped the car down gone over all our race data and are quietly confident that we are on the right track to put on a good show next weekend.”
The team also stayed on at U.S. Nationals venue for testing where they clocked a 3.78 at 322mph 1000ft pass to set them in good stead for the next NHRA round.
