Rapisarda Autosport International returns to the 2013 NHRA Mello Yello series for the 16th annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 at Chicago this weekend.
“The team is excited to be going back to race in America,” according to co-tuner Santino Rapisarda.
“The Chicago round is the midpoint of the season and a real challenge for all teams particularly now we are heading into Summer and the temperatures start to climb. Last year we qualified in 12th place and then smoked the tyres in first round.”
“There looks like being around 22 cars entered and I think the high car count is because the track is only about 300kms from Indianapolis where many of the teams have their headquarters. Chicago also has later than usual qualifying times. On both days first round is at 4 pm and second session under lights starts at 8 pm.” he concluded.
