Whilst the final day of qualifying at the O’Reilly Winternationals succumbed to the weather, Rapisarda Racing were able to secure a finals day birth. Drag News Australia brings you an insight into the team as it prepares for eliminations tomorrow.
Rapisarda Racing will face off against Antron Brown in first round of Top Fuel at the season opening O’Reilly Auto Parts Winternationals.
The Rapisarda team moved into the field with a workman like pass of 4.02/297 mph on their third qualifier before drizzle then turned to rain forcing organisers to cancel the final round of qualifying.
“ On our final run we were second quickest to the 60 foot marker”. Said Cory McClenathan.
“The car started to shake by the tree then I gave it a pedal before we dropped a cylinder,”
“The car was really trying to run in the mid .80’s sec. It was disappointing not to get the chance to go out for the final session”
The Rapisarda team is looking forward to tomorrow and first round.
