Rapisarda Racing run a PB to occupy 10th place after day one in Chicago

Rapisarda Racing have clocked their finest qualifying performance since joining the NHRA Full Throttle Series in 2010.  A superb pass of 3.86/490 km/h. clinched the Oz outfit tenth spot and with two qualifying sessions remaining has all but guaranteed the team a start on race day.

While Team Rapisarda were running a personal best, seven- time fuel champ Tony Schumacher and “Aussie “ Dave Grubnic struggled and sit in 17th and 18th spot respectively in the 20 car field.

A strong 3.86 secured Cory Mac and Rapisarda Racing a spot in the field after the first two qualifiers

For Rapisarda an opening qualifier of 3.93/496 km/h to grab ninth spot was  a superb effort on a day when the track temperature hit 119F, a possible top five result was thwarted by  a dropped cylinder near the finish line.

The second qualifier held on a cooling track and Rapisarda pilot  Cory McClenathan clocked a superb run  of 3.86/490km/h  to match it with the best and finest on the NHRA circuit.
