Day two of qualifying has come and gone for Rapisarda Racing at the season opening O’Reilly Winternationals and Drag News Australia continues to bring to you exclusive reports from the teams NHRA assualt both on and off the track.
Rapisarda Racing remains in 15 th spot after slipping out of the top 12 pre-qualifiers after session two at the O’Reily Auto Parts NHRA Nationals
“We simply over powered the race track today,” explained Santo Rapisarda Jnr.
“Yesterday we had the car backed down and decided overnight ” to go after it “, but maybe we got greedy,” he said.
“We are looking forward to having two runs tomorrow, moving up the ladder and cement our place in the field.” he predicted
A surprise visitor to the Rapisarda camp was Al-Anabi star Khalid Albalooshi.
“It was great he called in to have a quick chat before today’s qualifying ” said Santino Rapisarda.
“Stepping into the number one team as a rookie is a big challenge but he seemed cool and relaxed. He wished us well and I said I hope we can meet in the final on Sunday.” he revealed to our Drag News Australia correspondent.
