The Gold Coast streets felt the brute force of real horsepower on Friday when a posse of drag cars were unleashed on the V8 Supercar crowd as part of the Gold Coast 600 festivities.
The crowd mass waits in anticipation, no doubt many about to be served their first dish of nitro.
A serving Pommie Steve Read and Anthony Begley were happy to provide with a thunderous flame throwing, tyre smoking display.
We don’t see enough Nitro Funny Car action on track, but Christine Steffens are still keeping the candles lit for the class.
Steve Miriams turned the heat up with his jet dragster.
Top Alcohol action was provided by Darren Fry, Steve Reed and Debbie O’Rourke.
O’Rourke Motorsport also had their Pontiac Top Doorslammer skidding up a storm.
It was not just blowers and nitro, the Sport Compact scene were there to showcase high revs and boost with Kelly Bettes, Collin Willshire and Scott Porter.
Around twenty machines in total rocked the two hour long exhibition.
