A special gathering on January 20 at Peter Leahy Custom Imports commemorated 15 years since the passing of drag racing icon Roly Leahy. In attendance also was Jim and Elaine Walton who were also honoured with a surprise of their lives.
At 6pm the Forever Young FED was fired up as is tradition now, it was this time 15 years ago with the Leahy family by his side Roly heard the Forever Young throttle whacks shortly for the last time before passing away.
In the large gathering of drag racing legends and icons at the event was nitro Funny Car stalwarts Jim and Elaine Walton, in a special tribute arranged by Paul Davies and team, the Waltons were honoured with a real life replica of the Coca Cola Monza Funny Car Jim famously drove. Josh Leahy blipped the funny car around the carpark on nitro in an emotional reunion for Jim and Elaine.
