17th October Drag Fest 2015 - 494

On the weekend of October 17th and 18th another very successful event was run at Warwick Dragway. This time, it was their annual showpiece, Dragfest, an event which has been running for over 10 years and attracts racers from as far afield as Melbourne and North Queensland.

All in all, over 220 racers converged on the iconic eighth mile track. Spread over eleven different brackets, there was plenty of variety from the Junior Dragsters right up to Supercharged Outlaws, and plenty in between. With amazing, albeit rather hot at times, weather blessing the track, plenty of great times were had both on and off the racing surface.

One highlight of this event which has become a welcome trademark for many is the Saturday night get together. With plenty food and drinks supplied by the Warwick Drag Racing Club and lots of tall stories being told by the racers and crew members, a great time was had by all, all set to a soundtrack supplied by an excellent local covers band.

As a race meeting, Dragfest is amongst the best and continues to grow in both numbers and stature year after year. With Warwick having it’s very own round of the ANDRA Sportsman Series coming up, it was also a great opportunity to prove that the big events are in good hands at this awesome regional track.
