The water has subsided and the 2013 JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series was launched with round one at Warwick Dragway.
The four round series will travel the South East Queensland venues Warwick, Ironbark, Willowbank raceways culminating at Benaraby in September.
The Junior Dragster result was an all family affair with Ethan Oberg defeating brother Caleb.
Mark Woods conquered Mod Bike with Matt Lay the runner up.
The experienced Guy Henry wrapped up Super Street over Robert Winterburn.
Tony Whyatt is one of the toughest Super Sedan racers in the land and took the win in Super Sedan beating Andrew Lange.
Jordan Radford returned to the winners circle in Modifed downing Ian Ham in the final. The event low point also came in Modified when Matt Enright barrel rolled his altered on its competition debut, it was Enright’s first competitive event in 20 years after a long rebuild. Fortunately except for some bruising Enright was unharmed.
In the battle of the classics it was Mark Peterson holding off Lyn Stewart in the Old School bracket.
The next round of the JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series will be held at Ironbark Raceway on April 27th
