Round 6 of the Atura Blacktown Track Championship Series at Sydney Dragway was successfully concluded to everyones relief after the toll weather has taken on the series this year, here are the final round results.
In Top Comp Jeff Wilson set a new benchmark for his Corvette Top Doorslammer with a 6.03, Johnny Roso also had his new Camaro Top Doorslammer on track for the first time, though still suffered from bouts of tyre shake.
The final saw Andrew Hodgson – testing in TA/FC classification and sporting his original body shell with the Avenger body left at home – take on Charlie Micali’s Duster Top Doorslammer. Micali broke on the line and Hodgson picked up a bonus win for the day.
Fred Solieman had a solo in the Super Comp final.
Supercharged Outlaws was an all blown sedan final with Arthur Yiannitos earning his first ever win with his Capri over Wild Bunch icon Benny Gatt.
A 7.743 on a 7.74 wrapped up Top Sportsman for Neil Constantinou over Jason Stares’ Corvette.
In Modified, Jamie Robertson took his first career win in the class defeating Travis Leifting’s altered with a 9.821 on a 9.80.
Marco Tolomeo is back to his winning ways in Super Sedan with his recently rebuilt Falcon defeating Nathan Watt who threw away a 9.729 on a 9.72 with a slack reaction time.
Modified Bike was a boil over with John Puckeridge upsetting gun Joe Khoury.
Tony Polito bagged the win in Super Gas when Roy Romeo was one thousandth too quick on the tree.
Vicki Adamou claimed her first ever win in Super Street over Rod Hanckel’s big truck.
No surprises to see Toby Austin win Junior Dragster, congratulations though to Claire Little valiant in her first ever final.
Former Junior Dragster competitor Danielle MacCaskell wrapped up Street Fighter in her Commodore over Danny Stadelmaier.
The Street Bike ended with Manuel Hliounakis breaking out and handing the win to Stefan Stivala.
The all family match up of Jeffrey and Stephen Danglmaier in the HAMBster final saw Stephen victorious.
The next round of the Atura Blacktown Track Championship Series will be held on September 12, so get track side for a great display in Sportsman racing.
