SCINTILLATING SYDNEY DOUBLE LOOMS FOR PREMIAIR NULON RACING

PremiAir Nulon Racing has a huge three days of action coming up at Sydney Dragway, with two rounds of the NDRC Top Fuel Championship to be held this weekend as part of the Nitro Champs.

Saturday the 18th of May and Sunday the 19th of May will each host a complete round of the championship chase, with three passes each day, while Friday the 17th of May will feature testing opportunities for Top Fuel.

Two-time Top Fuel champ Peter Xiberras has some clear goals in mind for the double header.

“We have been having some trouble in our 60 foot times of late, which has definitely been holding us back, so goal number one will be to try and get that sorted out on Friday,” Xiberras explained.

“We are of course also very motivated to reclaim the ET record that we held since 2021 and lost to Damien Harris at the last event. If we can get our 60 foot time sorted out, I think we can make a real shake of that across the two days.

“And finally, of course we want a win, two would be amazing!” he smiled.

“With the Top Fuel title chase speeding to its conclusion with three rounds left to run, two of which are being held this weekend, the stakes are definitely very high this weekend.

“We will be giving it everything we have got, that is for sure!”

While PremiAir Nulon Racing is headquartered in Queensland, Xiberras lives in Sydney and as such, is set to have quite the local cheer squad on-track at the Nitro Champs.

“Racing at Sydney Dragway is always enjoyable, as not only do we race on a great track, but we do so with a lot of my family and friends in the stands cheering us on,” Xiberras said.

“Here is hoping we can deliver a win or two and perhaps reclaim the record for them this weekend to repay their support!”

At the same time, he will also be keeping a close eye from afar on the goings on of his Supercars team, which is also competing this weekend at the Perth SuperSprint.

“It is never ideal when these events clash but obviously with the extreme wet weather for the originally scheduled Nitro Champs weekend, moving it was the right call,” Xiberras said.

“We have an amazing PremiAir Nulon Racing Supercars team in place and I have full confidence they will be putting on a fantastic effort in Perth while we are here fighting in Top Fuel in the PremiAir Nulon Racing Top Fuel Dragster.”
