SANTO RAPISARDA Racing will make their first appearance at historic Route 66 Speedway Chicago in round 11 of the NHRA Full Throttle championship this weekend.

The iconic venue, 50kms south- west of Chicago is expecting sweltering temperatures topping 40C degrees over the three- day meeting.

“Chicago is unique on the series, the only round with both days of qualifying held after sunset, hopefully by then the temperature will have dropped.” Rapisarda told Drag News Australia.

‘’We have a strong “hot weather car” that ran a 3.89/490 km/h on a track that was 130F two weeks ago in Tennessee. The Chicago event has an excellent reputation for speed and I expect we will need to run a four second flat pass and around 470km/h to make the field.”
