The sounds of horsepower will ring out through Perth Motorplex this weekend with the first official test day of the season on October 2.

Many racers are readying their vehicles to try out new changes or upgrade their licenses.

Kristie Scowen will be bringing out her Supercharged Outlaws Ford Falcon XM for the first time after recently revealing the car at the Perth Hot Rod and Street Machine Show in Burswood.

The excitement is building for Scowen, daughter of veteran Outlaws racer Clive Hudson, who formerly raced in the Super Street category.

“I’m just going to take her for a bit of a cruise down the quarter,” she said. “Having not raced in quite some time, and with the increase in horsepower, I just want to get in it and see what it’s all about again.

“It’s going to be a huge learning curve as you can imagine. I’m in no rush to be competitive, I just want to be comfortable and have some fun.”
