ANDRA has ruled that competitors who have not travelled outside their home division during the shortened 2015 season will not be eligible for category championships.

With the rain out of the Nitro Champs, this left many racers from Queensland in particular out of the running.

While the rule has been in place for previous seasons, the shortened season appears to have caught a number of entrants out.

Page 69 of the 2015/16 ANDRA Rulebook reads: “NOTE: The awarding of Australian Champion honours is conditional upon the recipient contesting at least one round outside his or her home division in the same season.”

ANDRA, who clarified the issue in their latest Motor Mail to members did say that in regards to Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series end of season payouts, while someone who has not travelled is ineligible for the champion prize money, second through fifth will be determined by the final points tally (taking into account the 160 point cap). Payouts for second through fifth will be made irrespective of whether the racer has travelled or not.
