Six new national eighth-mile records were set in Round 3 of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series at Fuchs South Coast Raceway November 14-15.
Victorian Shane Baxter rewrote the Competition Eliminator record books for CC/DA with a 4.328 second pass and 159.39 mph to wipe out the minimum set at 4.34 and 158.00 mph.
Fellow Victorian Craig Geddes reset the ET record for B/D with an event-winning pass of 4.578 seconds to beat his previous record of 4.615.
Western Australia’s Kim Fardella reset both ends of the Super Stock D/G record with a 5.215 second pass to destroy the minimum of 5.30 while also breaking his own speed record reaching 131.69 mph. His previous mph record was set at 128.57 mph.
Jim Ioannidis from South Australia set a new speed mark for the B/MSA class going 117.90 mph to surpass the minimum set at 115.00 mph.
