Portland’s Fuchs South Coast Raceway held their season finale last weekend, a special Chicago Shootout event and here is the wrap up.
The finale was a quiet event with a only smallish turnout of 50 to 60 racers to close out the venue’s season, brackets on offer were a combined Super Sedan/Modified, Super Street, and Modified Bike. Supercharged Outlaws was offered but low entries reduced them to testing.
Geoff Treloar was one of the Supercharged Outlaws testing, Treloar returning his VK to the track after a few years on the sidelines.
The two best performers from the Chicago Shootout format fought out a final.
In Super Sedan/Modified Rick Smith’s Camaro broke out by a mere 1/1000th of a second with a 5.649 on the 5.65 dial.
It was David Todd’s ripper .003 reaction and winning 6.11 on a 6.10 that forced the breakout.
Andy Gay’s 8.05 on a 7.85 dial let Sophie Langeluddecke win one for the girls.
Sophie in her Commodore streeter went a 8.31 on her 8.25 dial in to take the final event of the season.
A 1.6 reaction time from Jamie Dohnt left no hope for the win in the Modified Bike final.
Matthew Ireland cruised to win with a safe 6.96 on his 6.92 nomination.
