For Emilio Spinozzi, the start to his ANDRA Pro Series career has not been what he had hoped for. Next weekend, will mark the third time that the team will make an attempt to complete their first full ANDRA Pro Series event.
The prior two attempts have been affected by rain. The first being the New Year’s Series at Willowbank Raceway, Ipswich Queensland in January and the second being the original March 18 – 19 Aeroflow by Rocket Industries event. In spite of this, the team have been spending a lot of time testing in preparation for racing trim.
“It’s very frustrating when we don’t get to complete events. However, I want to thank the management of Sydney Dragway for allowing us to rerun the event. The other bright side to the situation that we have at hand is that we have been given plenty of testing opportunity and practice at turning the car around between rounds”. remarked Emilio Spinozzi, CNS Motorsports co-team owner and driver of the Terra Civil Pontiac GTO.
In testing the team has produced some solid 1.02 second 60 footers, which equates to mid to low 7.1 second runs.
“In the one and only qualifying session that was ran over the March 18 – 19 event, our team produced the third quickest 60 foot time of the round. This showed that our testing has been paying off, we just need to get the car quicker in the later part of the run,” explained Spinozzi.
The CNS Motorsports crew, the same crew that worked on the team’s Chevy S-10 truck, has worked tirelessly to get the team to this point. During testing, the team damaged a valve, which meant that a cylinder head needed to be removed from the vehicle. The crew managed to work overnight to get the damaged head removed, the valve fixed and back ready to race the next day.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Rob Tucker of Rob Tucker Racing for assisting our team during this dilemma. Rob supplied us with the parts that we needed to get back on track.
CNS Motorsports would like to thank sponsors: Terra Civil, Mitre 10 solutions Kemps Creek, RC Performance Engines, Pasta Italia, Al’s Race Glides, Race Teknix, Optimum Fire, Ray JE Engineering, Smithfield Diff and Gear, Zagari Engineering and Wurth products for their continued support of the team
