Western Australian crew chief Michael Marriott did not stay on the jobless list for long, with Sydney-based Pro Stock team Spinozzi Racing picking up the former crew chief of Wayne Daley.
With Daley’s racing plans for this season uncertain, Marriott went on to the open market and will now be helping guide the Terra Civil Camaro, still relatively fresh out of the USA, down the track.
It will be something of a national effort with the team’s engine supplier RC Performance based in Adelaide.
“I was fortunate to visit RC Performance’s very professional work shop recently and was extremely impressed,” Marriott said.
“Emilio and Adamo Spinozzi have put together an amazing package completed with a full race transporter professionally wrapped in the team’s livery. The team are testing in early March and have invited me to attend. This will be the first opportunity to look at the car up close and to work with the team.”
Spinozzi Racing qualified at all events they attended last year and are looking to improve the team’s performance and qualifying positions going forward.
“We are all aware of the task in front of us and know that it will take some time to be as competitive as we need to be,” Marriott said.
