During the off season, Springmount Raceway has made some track improvements to improve the North Queensland drag racing venue.
The entire racing surface has undergone a complete surface grind to the 1320ft finishing line. The desired outcome is to increase the surface area, by making it less porous, allowing rubber and traction compound a better opportunity to adhere to the racing surface, and providing better traction for higher horsepower vehicles.
The opening meeting for the new season at the venue kicks off on om March 25 with a Test &Tune Come Try Day.
