A full day of Sunset Nationals qualifying action has drew to a close at the Atlantic Oils Sunset Strip in Mildura ahead of racing on Sunday for round three of the 2025/2026 ANDRA Sportsman Series.
More than 135 racers across ten ANDRA Sportsman Series brackets laid down run after run on Saturday to see who would take out the Top Qualifier Medallions, presented by New Gen Business Park.
When all was said and done, Cooper Plummer (New Gen Business Park Junior Drag Bike), Charlize Grivell (Junior Dragster), Malcolm Todd (Goodyear Racing Super Street), Dean Jamieson (Ballistic Performance Parts Modified Bike), Rob Camilleri (The South Australian Drag Racers Association Super Sedan), Adriana Cartledge (Gallagher Modified), Edge Mallis (New Gen Business Park Competition Bike), Daniel Jones (Top Sportsman), Shane Kramer (New Gen Business Park Supercharged Outlaws), and Graeme Spencer (Super Gas) claimed the Top Qualifying honours.
The non-championship Street Car bracket is also on track this weekend, with Danny Wilson Top Qualifying in the always exciting local bracket.
In Good Year Racing Super Street, Top Qualifier Malcolm Todd is happy with his Holden Torana’s performance and is looking forward to taking today’s momentum into Sunday’s racing.

“I have had a really good day,” Todd grinned.
“The car is going really, really well. And in the last two runs, I picked up some good lights for once, so that was good!” he laughed.
“I am feeling really good heading into racing – this is my second year with this freshened up build and it is going really well. Paul Turner has done a really good job with it and it is just so consistent,” he said, while thanking the track volunteers, “they have had a big day and they just keep going and going and going – thank you to them for all their efforts.”
In Super Gas, Graeme Spencer doesn’t take claiming the Top Qualifier position lightly. With a field full of competitive racers, he knows anything can happen on race day.

“The car is going well, as good as can be,” Spencer said.
“It has been a good day, my opponents were really good and the weather has been really nice.
“Tomorrow is a whole new day, so we will have to see what happens after the first round – if we get through, then that will be all good, but if we don’t, I guess we go from the top straight to the bottom real fast,” he laughed, while thanking his crew, Karen, and ANDRA.
Despite gremlins plaguing Rob Camilleri’s Pontiac Grand Prix, the Super Sedan racer ended the day with the Top Qualifier medallion.

“It has been an eventful day – I just broke the transmission!” Camilleri lamented.
“So, I am not sure about tomorrow at this stage, we do have a spare one, so we will see if we can fix it.
“Before that we had issues all day – battery issues, voltage issues, and then the transmission. But that is allright, it is what it is, and the car was fast – so I am happy.
“Hopefully that is all our bad luck out of the way for a bit!” he concluded, while thanking Sunraysia Mower Centre and Oz Mower Spares for their support.
