The Australian version of the immensely popular Drag Week is on again with 50 competitors putting their street and strip machines through a week and 1300 kilometres of mechanical hell.
And while our street registration rules are not quite as liberal as those across the big pond, there is still a number of seven second machines amongst the combatants and yesterday Calder Park was their first stop on the five day tour.
Event organisers Street Machine Magazine have posted this great day one wrap up of all the action from Calder park, and with day one in the books after a day of racing at Calder Park, racers loaded up and moved on to Portland’s South Coast Raceway for another crack at the track today. However signs of wear and tear are already evident with some stressed machines not arriving to their next destination until after midnight – and a few did not make it at all.
