In front of a packed house, the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship and Australian Drag Racing Championship have celebrated not only event winners for Nitro Up North, but also the season Champions for Top Fuel, Top Doorslammer and Top Fuel Motorcycle at the Hidden Valley Drag Strip this evening.
This weekend’s Nitro Up North event at the Hidden Valley Drag Strip will host an epic championship finale for the Australian Drag Racing Championship Top Doorslammer and Top Fuel Motorcycle categories, as well as the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship.
As the end of the season approaches, husband-and-wife Top Doorslammer team Daniel and Lisa Gregorini have found themselves on opposite ends of the racing fortune spectrum.
While he won’t be taking home another Australian championship this season, John Zappia has successfully moved his Dananni Hotshots / Fuchs Lubricants Monaro to the next generation of transmission technology, with near best-ever numbers recorded at the Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway.
This weekend’s Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway – the penultimate round of the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship and Australian Drag Racing Championship chase – have ensured the Top Fuel title battle will go down to the wire at next month’s finale in Darwin.
The penultimate round of the Burson Auto Part Australian Top Fuel Championship and Australian Drag Racing Championship for Top Doorslammer and Top Fuel Motorcycle is on this weekend at Sydney Dragway’s Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs. With just the Grand Final to go after this event in Darwin, it is make or break for the championship contenders this weekend to stay in the hunt.
Craig Burns and Leonard Azzopardi are amongst a keen line-up of racers who are counting down the hours until this weekend’s Nitro Champs event at Sydney Dragway.
