The National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) has today announced an electrifying week of drag racing action in the Northern Territory, beginning with the highly anticipated Nitro Up North, taking place on August 29-30. This stand-alone event will set the stage for a thrilling series of race events across the Northern Territory, bringing together elite racers and passionate fans for an unforgettable two-weekend motorsport spectacle.

The Pro Drag Racing Championship will be firing on all cylinders as it steams into Tailem Bend for Round Two of the PDRC Series this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, alongside the Summit Racing Equipment Track Championship Series with over 180 entries for the massive event.

Long-time Sydney racer Nasser Matta and his family have taken the leap into blown doorslammer racing with their sleek 37 Chev. After a stint in Top Doorslammer, the A-Civil team has made the strategic switch, transitioning to PDRC Pro Mod where the team will continue to hone their skills and develop performance.

Some may think it’s the equivalent to taking a knife to a gunfight, but despite the odds, running a small block powered dragster in Pro Alcohol has proven to be a successful combination over the years. For Frank Intini – who will be attacking round two of the NDRC Pro Alcohol championship at Dragway At The Bend (Feb 8/9) – it will be the continuation of a lifelong challenge in a dragster that boasts an impressive pedigree.

Taken purely on results, PremiAir Racing’s weekend at Willowbank Raceway’s New Year Nitro was not a great weekend, but the team says the lessons learnt there see it ready to launch full force into action at the upcoming Westernationals at the Perth Motorplex (March 1-2).
