Following months of extended work behind the scenes, Team Bray Racing is looking forward to putting on a show in Pro Slammer at the upcoming Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder event at Sydney Dragway (May 3 and 4).

The Gulf Western Oil supported team hasn’t competed in the 400 Thunder Pro Slammer bracket since January but has been making the most of this time to undertake major changes to the transmission, diff gear ratios and gearbox ratios in the Slammers of both Victor Bray and Ben Bray.

With an all-run format and test sessions also on the docket for the event – which is being held at the venue where both Victor and Ben have set their personal best markers – team principal and six-time national champion, Victor Bray says the event is sure to be action-packed.

“As the penultimate round of the 400 Thunder Pro Slammer series, the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder event is sure to be a big event and one that brings out the competitive spirit of everyone in the field,” Victor said.

“There hasn’t been around of the Pro Slammer series since January’s event at Willowbank Raceway, so we have been itching to get back into it in our Gulf Western Oil Slammers but have also been taking advantage of the break to make as many improvements as possible to our racing package.

“With so much work being done in the last few months, we will be taking full advantage of the test sessions on Friday night and Saturday morning, to make sure we really fine tune the new transmission set-up ahead of the all-run racing format on Saturday afternoon and evening.”

TBR’s part in the nine-strong Pro Slammer field is just one aspect of a very busy event program for the Brisbane-based outfit, which will also be entertaining race fans on the burnout pad and hosting the Canon Collective during the event.

“I am looking forward to getting aboard the Gulf Western Oil TBR Corvette and smoking it up for the race fans on Sydney Dragway’s burnout pad across the event, because who doesn’t love a bit of a burnout show alongside their drag racing?” Ben Bray said.

“Between the Pro Slammer racing and the burnout shows, we are going to be really busy across the entire weekend – hopefully we can bring home some great results for all of our supporters and our valued sponsors.

“We will also have some very special guests on-hand throughout the event with the Canon Collective joining us in the pits.

“This will be the third year that we have been joined at Sydney Dragway by this great group of photographers and we can’t wait to see the works they produce from what should be a real head-turning event.”
