Round five of Calder Park’s Street Outlaws exploded with a tough field of cars and bikes showing up, with the sun shining, the lanes full and a sticky track there were many new competitors out to try their luck and list their names on the Top 16 lists.
Vic Paplos claimed Street Outlaws bragging rights running a remarkable 8.87 at 153mph sealing the top spot in his hatchback.
The eight second passes didn’t stop there and neither did the fast Toranas, last time we saw Quentin Feast at Calder Park he was running low boost with a best of a 10.03 and we knew it had more in it. Feats did not disappoint running a string of fast runs steering his gorgeous LH Torana to an 8.97 at 124mph best claiming the second spot.
Adam Styles made the trek across the state once again to try and move up the field in his twin turbo LC Torana, and bettering his time and position on the Street Outlaws Mod list with a notable 9.02 at 141mph, we predict he will be one to watch on Boxing Day.
A pair of HSVs proved what they had with Noel Pzcierzug and his WM Grange running a 10.89 at 129mph and Peter Morris in his E3 R8 running an 11.31 at 124mph.
Regular Street Outlaw competitors also came out to play, John Inserra moving his LJ Torana up the list with a 10.26 at 132mph and Richard Dedood finding over two tenths with a 10.37 at 132mph in his tidy Monaro.
The competition is heating up and Boxing Day is looking to be an unmissable event, there are still several rounds of qualifying left for racers to come out and have a hit at the Street Outlaw lists with round six on Friday October 10th.
