The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car show is heading to the one of Australia’s premier drag racing facilities, the Perth Motorplex, with a huge field of funny cars primed to entertain the West Australian fans.
Confirmation of the January 9 date for the event comes after months of talks with the management of the Motorplex.
Venue Manager, Kevin Prendergast confirmed, “We have really wanted to have these cars come to our race track and put on a show for our fans and we are excited to have locked them in for January 9.
“The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars bring something new to the table and this is going to be a totally fresh event for all West Australian motorsport fans.”
The Outlaw Nitro Funny Car class boasts some of the best side-by-side racing for Australian drag racing fans and has been thrilling fans around the country.
Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars Series Manager, Steve Bettes added, “That’s what race fans want to see – flames from the exhaust pipes, that cackling nitro sound and close racing from spectacular race cars.
“The tightness with which these cars battle will keep the fans on the edge of their seats and with so many cars, it really is something else.
“The great part about coming to WA is that we know that Perth loves funny cars. Nitro funny cars have been a strong part of Perth’s racing culture but I don’t think they will have ever seen this many nitro funny cars in one place!”
The event will see possibly 10 cars from the east coast and up to 4 cars from the west coast, making a massive 14-car nitro field!
Bettes continued,“Not only that, we will have two wheelstanding supercharged alcohol burning funny cars compete against each other in grudge racing over the full quarter mile.”
“The wheelstanding funny cars are what the kids really love, and I am sure we’ll see both cars disappear down the quarter mile with the fans on their feet!
The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car show will first head to Willowbank Raceway followed by the series finale at Sydney Dragway before kicking of the 2016 season at the Perth Motorplex.
