Perth Motorplex will host Round 5 of the Burson Auto Parts Top Fuel Australia Championship at the 52nd annual MacTrack Westernationals event March 4-5.
This will be the second appearance of the 12,000+ hp nitro-powered Top Fuel Dragsters at the Motorplex this season and will coincide with the Australian Drag Racing Championship and the Summit Racing Equipment Grand Final.
In November thousands of race fans witnessed Top Fuel history as Damien Harris in his Rapisarda International Autosport entry, won back to back race wins after beating Phil Lamattina in the “Carrot King” dragster, in an incredibly close final race.
The full field of Australian Top Fuel dragsters will again make their way across the Nullarbor to the best drag racing facility in the country and will be supported by Australian Drag Racing Championship competitors, Top Doorslammer and Top Motorcycle.
“We are thrilled to have attracted the Burson Auto Parts Top Fuel Australia Championship back to the Perth Motorplex for the second time this season”, stated General Manager Paul Trengove.
“Our Goldenstates event in November saw thousands of race fans witness an incredible show of these nitro powered Top Fuel monsters, as well as a full field of the country’s finest drag racing cars and bikes.”
“Our traditional March long weekend event will be one of our best events yet, as it will also be part of the Australian Drag Racing Championship and ANDRA Grand finals”.
Series Principal Andy Lopez stated, “We are ecstatic to bring the Burson Auto Parts Top Fuel Australia Championship back to the Perth Motorplex”.
“The drivers and teams love competing at the Perth Motorplex and are thrilled to be heading back West.”
Trengove stated that it is an exciting time for drag racing at the Perth Motorplex, after recently securing the Street Outlaws – No Prep Kings event.
“It will be a very busy period across February and March with two massive events at our venue. We continue working hard to attract a huge range of events to Perth”.
This is the only opportunity Western Australian’s will have to see Top Fuel dragsters in 2023.
