The Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship is coming to Mildura in a special sunset 1/8th mile event! The Top Fuel monsters are joined by Top Bike, Pro Stock and a full roster of Sportsman categories from Junior Dragster through to Supercharged Outlaws.
It’s a long weekend in Victoria and South Australia, making it a perfect opportunity for Top Fuel starved South Australians and Victorians to make a trip to the Sunset Strip.
The Top Fuel 1/8th mile record is 3.15 secs at 266m/h … or 428km in the new language. All indications are that it’s a fast track, and this milestone will be smashed!
The Top Fuel teams would like to thank the Sunraysia Drag Racing Association for inviting them to be part of the Ken Scroop Memorial event.
Following the amazing success of Round 01 at Sydney Dragway in January, there have been some unforeseen disruptions to the calendar. WA closed its borders again, and the ongoing issues at Sydney Dragway forced changes to the calendar.
As always, the Top Fuel team continued to move forward positively and announced a great initiative with this Mildura event.
Hometown hero Phil Lamattina is understandably excited to see Top Fuel make it to the Sunset Strip. “Our family has been racing for years, and this is my home region and my family’s home track. I’m so proud to be racing in Mildura with the Burson Auto Parts Top Fuel Championship with two cars!”
Peter Xiberras from PremiAir Racing, or Peter X as he’s become known, said, “We love doing things different in this Championship, and an 1/8th mile in Mildura is going to be heaps of fun. I can’t wait.”
