For Aaron Tremayne, the 2011 Castrol EDGE Winternationals, held on the Queen’s Birthday Long weekend (June 10 – 13), is going to be a weekend of focus, a weekend where the team would like to make eight solid runs to win the event, which will once again allow Aaron to lay claim to the most coveted prize in ANDRA Pro Series Pro Stock drag racing.

Aaron, who has won the championship the last three years in a row, wants to not only win the championship but to also win his second Winternationals Gold Christmas tree.

“Like the NHRA has the MAC Tools U.S. Nationals as their land mark event of the season, the Winternationals is our equivalent. I won this event for the first time last year and would like to do it again this year,” he said.

Currently, Australian Pro Stock Drag Racing is in the strongest state ever with over 20 cars entering for each event, all of them with the latest technology making it almost anyone’s game.

“We race because we love what we do, and one of the main reasons we get as much enjoyment out of it, is because of the fierce competition,” remarked Aaron.

Brother Tyronne Tremayne, who has not had a season that he had hoped for going into the Winternationals, is looking to end the season on a strong note, as well as get some good data that can be put to good use for the new season.

“I’ll be the first one to admit that it hasn’t been the season we have hoped for. We would have liked to have gone 1-2-3 in the championship with myself and Jason Hedges, but it’s not going to be this year. In saying this, we look forward to next year. Tremaniac Racing will return with vengeance,” said Tyronne.

“I would just like to point out to people the pressure that Aaron is under at each and every event. He is responsible for all three cars – my Car, Jason’s car and his own car. Aaron makes all of the clutch, suspension and engine calls for all three cars. This is definitely no easy task as all three cars are different and need different tune up calls. Despite having to deal with the pressure of tuning, Aaron still needs to be able to get in his car and go rounds.”

Race fans are urged not to miss the final event on the 2010/2011 ANDRA Pro Series calendar – the 2011 Castrol EDGE Winternationals to witness the greatest spectacle in Australian drag racing.
