Tucker sounds warning to Pro Stock rivals

ANDRA Pro Stock started its season with a bang at the Fuchs Australian Nationals where a Monster Energy-powered Shane Tucker enjoyed the successful debut of his Pontiac GXP.

“The new hot rod is going to be a good thing, that’s for sure,” exclaimed the young Queenslander.

“We have some good data on the car and we will get better and better from here on in.

“Qualifying saw us in number five with a strong 7.06-second pass, we were very happy with that.”

Tucker and his GXP took on Bill Perdikaris in round one of eliminations, which saw Tucker take the win with a 7.12 pass at 192.25mph, proving too strong for Perdikaris’ 7.16.

Round two saw Tucker square-off with another ‘young gun,’ Aaron Tremayne.

A red light for the defending champion handed Tucker the win and a ticket to a semi final showdown with South Australian Michael Ali.

Despite a lightning fast reaction time of 0.047, Tucker faced some new car gremlins, which saw Ali take victory and go on to win the event.

Tucker concluded, “It was a good event for us, we had improved car speed and that is the hard part. The standard continues to go up though and we are ready for the Rob Tucker Racing team to take it to the next level.

“We have some time to test and we will be doing just that making sure we are ready for the March round in Perth.”
