Mark Mariani has been officially announced as the permanent driver of the Black Widow nitro FED.
Mariani replaces Steve “Pommie” Read who drove the previous “Purple Haze” Nitro FED, as the driver of Steve Turner’s new “Black Widow” car after a successful debut.
“We have officially announced that Mark Mariani will be the pilot of the “Black Widow” in the future. He done such an outstanding job on our debut,” Turner said
“Wendy and I had no hesitation in giving him the keys to the car for the future.”
The team have also secured sponsorship from Hyundai after initial concerns that the deal fell through.
“As you can see in the enclosed pictures, Hyundai are back on board with our operation, and they even had the van sign written last week for the show and for the future events we are to race or appear at,” he said
“It was the success of the event that we ran in April that made them turn around and see the press that we received from a low key event, plus some good PR from Geoff Paradise from one of our majors, Transport and Trucking Today, that re-wrapped the deal back up.
“Hyundai are super keen to progress a little further into our sport, so you will definitely see a larger contribution from them on the Black Widow team.”
Look out for the Black Widow and team on track soon.
